Bridgette Burcu Erdogan was born in Istanbul, Turkey later relocated to California to pursue her college education at the University of California, Berkeley. In her journey through life, she established a small business focused on crafting garments, particularly wedding dresses and costumes. Bridgette's dedication and expertise in her craft earned her annual business awards from various local community organizations in the San Diego area. Her passion for the fusion of garments, technology, and art has been a driving force throughout her life. Bridgette developed an emotional connection to fabrics and garments from a young age, influenced by her grandmother, who owned a bridal shop in Damascus, Syria. Although she never had the chance to visit her grandmother's store, Bridgette always felt a profound connection to it. Professionally, she gained over fifteen years of experience in various aspects of garment-making, focusing on crafting exquisite wedding gowns. She owned and operated her own bridal store, following in her grandmother's footsteps.
Over the years, Bridgette has worked in diverse environments, gaining a deep awareness of the working conditions faced by textile makers, particularly children as young as sixteen, who labor in sweatshops and small factories. Her commitment to advocating for fair working conditions and better treatment of these young workers has become a driving force, underlining her dedication to the cause. Through her remarkable journey from Istanbul to California, Bridgette Burcu Erdogan has established herself as a skilled garment artisan and a passionate advocate for change in the textile industry, blending her love for garments and art with her commitment to making a difference.
